Art and Cultural Center

Maanmaal is planning a permanent cultural centre in Garowe dedicated to cinema, visual arts, creative learning, performance and cultural exchange. A 4,130 m² site has already been acquired, and the architectural concept for the Centre has been developed.

Why a Centre?


Garowe has limited dedicated cultural infrastructure. The Centre is envisioned as a permanent place where young people, artists and audiences can experience art and cinema, develop creative skills, present their work and come together around ideas and culture..

Planned Spaces

Cinema — Approximately 200 seats for films, discussions and events.

Central Courtyard — Approximately 400 m² for gatherings and cultural activities.

Exhibition Spaces — For photography, painting and visual arts.

Workshop Rooms — For training and creative production.

Café — A social meeting space.

Offices — For Maanmaal and programme development.

Where we are now?

LAND — A 4,130 m² site in Garowe has been acquired.
ARCHITECTURE — The architectural concept and plans have been developed.
FINANCING — The financing phase has not yet begun. Maanmaal is preparing for the next stage of project development and fundraising.
